The Kudzu Chronicles is a book-length poem written by Beth Ann Fennelly,
professor of English at the University of Mississippi. This is the first publication
of the poem in its entirety. The book is quarter-bound in maroon bugra with a
handmade paper spine and a paper kudzu leaf inlay. The printed endsheets are
handmade cotton, and the text papers are Bugra, in evergreen and grey. The typeface
is Adobe’s Fournier and was printed using photopolymer plates. Most exciting of all
are 12 multi-colored linoleum cuts, carved by the printer and all inspired by the text.
Each copy is signed by the author and printer.

Driving south on the highways of
the Carolinas, Georgia, and Alabama,
I became captivated by the botanical
phenomenon known as kudzu.
Never before had I seen a plant
that makes curtains of its vines on
roadsides, blankets medians, and
drapes itself onto trees.
I wanted to print a book about kudzu,
to share my fascination...
