About the crown ring
The crown ring has been a symbol for my work since 1996, when my mother bought it for me from Idonia
Van der Bijl, a funky shop close to the British Museum
in London. To me, the ring represents creativity and spunk, working with one’s hands, and standing out in
the crowd. I once lost it for a year- a devastating and mysterious occurrence. Luckily my father found it, wedged underneath the seat cushions in the back of
my mother’s car, right before he was about to vacuum
it up, After this traumatic experience, I swore that I
would never take it off my hand again.

About Me:
I have felt the need to be a creative person
my entire life- making, doing, coloring, drawing,
writing, and dreaming. Being a book artist satisfies
my desire to bring art and texts together in ways
that I envision, from my imagination to reality.

I value the uniqueness of things that are handmade
and distinctively different from the norm; I appreciate
letters sent through the postal service and shared
thoughts on life’s oddities and odysseys.
